DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK
----------------------
At 100 AM CHST...the center of Tropical Storm 22W was located near
Latitude 16.6 degrees North and Longitude 138.2 degrees East...moving
west at 9 mph. It is expected to maintain this westward heading the
next several days, staying comfortably north of Palau and Yap.

Maximum sustained winds have increased to 40 mph. TS 22W is forecast
to steadily intensify the next few days and is expected to be a
typhoon sometime on Friday.

Tropical storm force winds extend outward from the center up to
40 miles.
