    Howdy!,

I think that a "Baby Bottle Brush" is the ultimate Back Scratcher I have
    tried using.

Just thought I'd tell about my discovery to those who read this echo.

The "Bottle Brush" I have, has a long handle of twisted wires.

I can use it all over my back.

As Jerry Clower tells about the feller up in the tree top with a Lynx
who hsd tp hollor out to his friends on the ground:

"Just shoot up here amongst us, One of us just has to have some relief".

The Bottle Brush is a lot better than the plastic Back Scratcher that has
the shape of a very small hand on the end of it that I won while trying
to win one of the better prizes at a Game of Chance in the Arcade at a Amusement Park years ago.

The long tiny handle broke when I used it many years ago and the pieces were thrown in the trash.

I threw those pieces away long before any "Recycling Program" was thought of
to recycle plastic to keep it out of the trash or getting in the waterways.

I will keep using that Bottle Brush (or a replacement for it) as a Back Scratcher, until I learn of some other way to scratch what itches on my back that works better.

It works for Me!, but I'm open to learn of any other instrument that anyone uses or knows about that does the job as well or better.
Estecially if the cost for that other thing is very cheap.

I don't know what a Bottle Brush replacement sells for today but if I need
to buy another one the Scotchman part of me won't keep me from buying one
    if I need another one.

That's not a bad idea, and could help with those 'bad' itches.

We actually have quite of few wooden back scratchers around the house. They
are pretty cheap, and work well.

Just in case you haven't noticed, that guy has been spamming echoes aklla round with the back scracther.

That said, my personal back scratchers are Equus Ferus Caballus models. They work wonders. Just scratch their belly a bit in order to get them into a playful mode, and they will grab you, bend you over brutally, and scratch your back with their teeth. Bonus points if you have more than one, because the others will join the party and scratch you elsewhere.

He's SO excited of his discovery and can't contain the aha moment! LOL

I can't remember how many times I would reach for an oversized salad
    fork to accomplish the task.

I've found that even a doorpost works fine sometimes. Even a stiff
back brush that is used for bathing is fine.

Necessity is the mother of invention.

Yeah.. but can you steer that model to find the just the "right" spot?

It seems that Equus Ferus Caballus would have other intentions.

You can't really steer Equus Ferus Caballus, but here is they thing, they rub ALL of your back so you are quaranteed they will get the itchy spot.

They also get my head and beard. It can be very intense.

You can save your jokes about horses who go dom on me. I have heard them all already :-P

It also just seemed so odd.

    I do not understand.

That said, while I was strongly inclined to just delete the message, I wound
up not doing so. But weird.

Out of curiosity, could you just use your hands to scratch your back when you were 15 or so, or is this really just a
    most-people-don't-have-that-flexibility thing?

I know I'm biased, because I've always had fairly high flexibility, at least
    in certain directions.

Though I guess I also have long arms.

I still can scratch my back with my hands. Funny how such a random post has triggered so much attention and discussion lol.

It's not the random post that triggered attention. It's that you can find the same post spammed to literally every group I read, offtopic for virtually all of them.

I feel like I'm on Facebook Groups. But fortunately FidoNet has rules 1.2.1.1 and 1.3.5, one of which this guy falls under.

I used to be able to join my hands at the fingers when
extending to the back. I can't do that so readily anymore.
So, I guess some flexibilty has waned. When younger, I could
always count on Mom to be willing and happy to attack a
    specific difficult spot.

But the extendable antenna back-scratcher that I mentioned
provides a nice confident way to target an area in a very
    satisfying manner.
