Yep, there are some dupes coming through from him. Avon changed over to HPT mail tosser, like hub 4 is, and it doesn't remove the soft CRs like Mystic does...

I haven't seen any dupes (recently) in net 4. My guess is that ryan is seeing th em arrive in net 1 changed via net 2. :(

Yes, now the Paul changed Hub 1 over to HPT, these messages are now getting duped in net 1. :(

So I guess BZ&BZ BBS is lucky then I have 22 dupes today.

    Take Care,

    Hi troops.

Not sure why but it looks like a system (Fido?) connected to Monterey BBS has tossed a bunch of dated packets back through this fsxNet node and onto NET

Yeah, my fault, really sorry here. I mass added all echos from a fido hub and it gated fsx areas to me. It did the same on agoranet. SO...I've probably spammed everyone.

If it's any consolation, I disabled the duplicate feeds but I fear some
damage is already done. Terribly sorry for the frustration here.

I am not sure of the cause of this but it looks like a synchronet BBS with multiple networks has "allow nodes to add areas from areafile" set to yes.

That's a good default if you just have one network, but if you have more than one network and someone does %+ALL and/or rescans they get connected to all areas and may get a rescan of all areas also.

This can lead to nodes getting "surprises"?

It's possible with Synchronet to use a list of areas that nodes have access to so that doesn't happen but requires a few steps to get setup and working.

    Ttyl :-),

It's totally fine, we all make mistakes at times and this network is all

Hi, that was me. Sorry about that. Monterey just joined Fido, Ryan did a
+ALL request, and Synchronet didn't follow the "required key" setting and limit access to just the Fido backbone.

I know the feeling. I messed up on a rescan request to my fidonet hub, and instead of only rescanning a couple of echos, I got rescans of ALL of them that I subscribe to.
