I love when they get in the taxi talking on the phone so I tune them out. Then they ask me something and I don't hear them and they yell at me. It's my favorite.

Rude, sounds like you are not treated well, and you should be.

Is there some standard etiquette involved? I'm picking they hop in and you chat to ask where they want to go etc. then off you go? That's been my experience. What differs a bit if how chatty the driver is (or not) and I tend to like to chat :)

I'm a chatty driver unless they are on the phone or listening to music so
loud I can hear it. LOL At that point I just drive and hope I get paid
at the end of the ride.
