• DOS Doors on Win10 32bit

From apam@21:1/126.1 to ALL on Friday, February 28, 2020 13:10:14
    Hi,

I've been trying to setup some dos doors with NetFoss on Windows 10
32-bit, but not having much luck.

Does anyone use the latest Windows 10 32-bit with DOS doors? I've
tried Falcon's Honor and LORD so far. Falcon's Honor gets to the
SRDOOR part, then hangs. LORD tries to start up but NTVDM crashes.

Not sure if I'm going to keep trying other doors, or just give up.

I don't think I'm doing anything wrong, I guess I could have NetFoss
setup incorrectly, as LORD seems to work in Local mode. (Falcon's
Honor just freezes in local mode too).

I have been in discussions with the author over on Fidonet BBS_CARNIVAL.

    He is beta-testing a 64-bit version...

Andrew, I have three Mystic BBS running in a ESXi 6.7 environment. One is Production ( Windoz 7), the other is my DEV area one under WIN10 and the
    other WIN7 ....

I do all my implementation and tinkering in DEV both under WIN7 and WIN10. When I get it to work, I will duplicate the install on my Production Mystic.

Now, with that explained, I have had zero luck running DOS doors under
NETFOSS with WIN10. Exact setup under WIN7 and works just fine. I have even set the executable to compatibility Mode and it completely locks up.
With Doors that are 32 bit that do not need NETFOSS to run, I have no issues with this at all.

Sorry, I am not a Linux person, have no idea where to begin. Always been on
my bucket list to just dive into it and learn from the school of hard knox :)

Just wanted to shout out to let you know, you are not alone with this issue,
I have also banged me head and many hours with no luck.

Not to butt in, but maybe this will help!
