I took a look at a video at slack.com. It really just looks like FTN echomail as email messages. ;)

I use slack all the time - tried to get it started at work, but it didn't
take off - that could change now, of course...

I use it for running games, believe it or not - old school Car Wars, modern Gaslands and some RPG stuff too.

One reason is because it's free - no, the free version does NOT keep
unlimited history, but for fluid team based WORK, it's great!
