From Don Rolo@21:4/167 to All on Friday, March 27, 2020 14:56:49
I'm trying to give the different areas of Fidonet Internacional a "logical" name (something that most people could understand) for my BBS.

BUT they are some that I don't understand what they are...

Could someone help me so I give them an understandable name? Thanks in
    advance!

    229426HSTAT

I think this area is hourly stats from node 229/426 maybe. Probably meant for linked nodes at 229/426 to know the connection is up and running.

    ESSNASA

This is the Earth & Space + NASA echo. Mostly just new file announcements from the NASA file area although folks could discussion those files or other Earth &
Space or NASA goings on if they wanted to.

    FDN_ANNOUNCE

    FIDO-REQ

Those two areas contain new file announcements that folks can freq from those BBSs if they want.

    FIDOTEST

This is a test area so folks can test if their BBS or node is connected and working as expected.

    FTSC_PUBLIC

Public announcements and discussion with the Fidonet Technical Standards committee

    SYNCDATA

This is a data area for InterBBS communication. It contains things like BBS listings you can import into your BBS list if you have one. It's Synchronet specific for the most part.

    ZDAILY

The Z1DAILY area contains announcements when the Z1 Daily nodelist is updated.

Thanks for any help you can provide!

No worries. Not all of these areas are meant for public consumption so you may or may not want them on your BBS available to all.

    R50.SYSOP

Do you know what is for?

One more question to you Al, since I cannot find in the Fidonet Msg Area Description file I have the description to this area:
    R50.SYSOP
Do you know what is for?

I suspect that is a region 50 sysop echo.

Region 50 is in Russia in the area around Moscow!
