From Flavio Bessa@21:1/146 to All on Sunday, February 26, 2017 22:45:00
    Hello my friends,

Well, I have setup a Mystic A31/OSX system to work for me as a fsxNET point,
so I gave it the address 21:1/146.1 and configured everything between it and the boss node.

All set, ran fidopoll and mutil mailin (a copy of the boss node .ini script), and an echomail package arrived and was correctly tossed into the OSX message base.

I wrote a test message at the same area (FSX general area) and ran mutil mailout. It did prepare an outgoing packet. Ran FIDOPOLL and... nothing happened, the point did not send any packets to the boss.

The interesting part is that, checking the /mystic/echomail/out directory, there is a "fidonet" directory under it and the mail packets that should be sent to the boss are there...

Has anyone ever played with the OSX version of Mystic?

    Regards,
    Flavio

Can not say I have but best to check if you have any bsy files in any of the folders aka the fido etc.

    So /mystic/echomail/out/

Check each folder under this and make sure there is no .bsy file listed, if there is, remove it. This can also be done by running the following command:

    ./fidopoll killbusy

    Hope this might help some,
    Cheers!

Check that you have .zip compression installed. If not that could be your problem. It may pay to test by removing compression from packets being sent
    to 1/100 HUB

    So /mystic/echomail/out/

I have checked the directory and there are no .bsy files. Ran also
    FIDOPOLL KILLBUSY and nothing.

ZIP is installed, what beats me is that the *.SU1 files are packed inside /mystic/echomail/out/fidonet directory, and I haven't configured anything related to fidonet... I have entered just fsxnet configs... And I can import the messages that the main node sends to me.

I tried with latest version of Mac OS Sierra but it won't let me install it.
I have never used Mac OS so maybe I am doing something wrong :)

Can I telnet in and have a look at your sysop settings etc.?

The fact the files are in echomail\out\fidonet is a red herring in that,
that's the default directory name that ships with a Mystic install but if
your primary network is set for say fsxNet then it will use that directory to place files there. So that all fine.

That would be great, thanks a lot!

I'll make the necessary arrangements to allow incoming telnet connections and send you the data over netmail.

Weird. I am still using El Capitan, but the installation process was

You had packets to your boss system set to hold..so I updated that to crash.
I am unsure if your mailout.ini file is set correctly but if you want to
email that to me (avon@bbs.geek.nz) I can take a quick look for you.

I also added an hourly poll event to your boss system that would help keep
your Mystic point system talking to your main system at 21:1/146

I changed the file dupe scanning from 'all' to 'current' as this allows for files to exist in file bases where a net may send out a weekly nodelist and
you may wish to have it in two file bases. Without that change it will mark
any new nodelist etc. as a dupe and reject it.

I note you have not set up groups etc. as yet for messages or files but understand that's likely to be down the track further when you figure out the current issues :)

Not sure if you were running MIS or MIS2 ? As you had both telnet servers enabled on your telnet port. It would pay to have only one telnet server running and I suggest you stick with MIS for now.

On the face of it I could see you had some setting in the backend configured
to push messages out straight away but the test message I posted had not been exported while I remained online. As I type this I have yet to see if it has been sent via your /146 node across the rest of fsxNet.

Another thing worth trying is to remove compression from your packets to your boss system. I may connect in again soon and try that.

    Best, Paul

Awesome! Thanks a lot for your assistance! I have just ran mutil and the message you posted has been exported correctly.

Actually, I do not intend to keep this system online, it's just meant to act like a point so I can read messages from FSXnet and participate more often... Think of it as a luxury QWK system ;)

Thank you very much, I'll send you a copy of my .ini files, but they are VERY simple :)
