• Starting Telnet Node

From Zazz@21:1/134 to All on Wednesday, June 14, 2017 11:35:10
I have a need to start any telnet login at node higher than 2. I want to reserve connections on 1 and 2 for something else.

How can this or can it be done. I have a Matrix login setup also.

Mystic's node numbers are dynamic. When you run Mystic, it generates a free node for that connection. There is no way to make it start at a certain number at the moment, but this IS something that could be added.

It needs to work this way because the connections could be coming from telnet, mgetty via a modem, etc, all of which would have no way to know which nodes in use vs which are not. That is why Mystic handles that part dynamically.

What is it that you'd like to do?

I run another BBS on the same pc and I found out that that if a user is on
Node 1 of Mystic and Node 1 of the other bbs, then for some reason there is
an issue. Mystic and my other bbs uses Netfoss and as a result netfoss knows both can't be node1 so the bbs of one freezes. This only occurs when users play games. Doesn't seem to be an issue any where else. I will try to setup the other bbs using Pseudo node in Net2BBS but the other bbs only has a two node limit and last time I fooled with that I couldn't get connect. But I probably had something misconfigured.

Well for now I started my other bbs on Node 2. I seriously doubt that I
would have a user on node 2 of each bbs. It has happened where I have had
two users on Mystic, but that's a rarity. So this should be good for most of the time.
