    g00r00,

Please consider this a list of some nice features I think you could add to Mystic. I think it might make Mystic just a tad bit better in a few areas.

But these are only suggestions, and again, I appreciate all you do! I know
your plate is full and I am only giving my view on what I would like to see.

    1) For hub for FTN networks: Add an option in a node in CFG to send a RESCAN command (just like using Areafix). "I know this breaks the longstanding tradition of they do it themselves, but why cant we as sys admins of the network initiate Areafix commands for them from the UI console?"

    2) Improve the console for viewing what bases and file bases a node is connected to. If you get a lot, it can get tough to view. Maybe just be
able to generate a list for a node. Its kind of hard to tell as is. But Works fine, but the UI could be tweaked a bit/

    3) Add the ability for US (the sysops) to turn on extensive logging like
debug. So I can see exact errors when FTN connections fail or stuff doesnt
    get tossed.

    4) Finish TIC processing.

    5) I know this has been debated. But, i would love a email plugin to Mystic. Auth STMP and Pop3. Id love to be able to run a Mail Server for communicating with email inside my BBS. That is the one feature I love about SBBS. It
worked pretty well. I know Pop3 and SMTP work, but I dont know how difficult the rest is. Probably not bad on Linux, but who knows on windows. This is low priority to me... but man it would be nice. I'd love the ability to send
emails and check my emails and ftn at once place.

Again, this is only suggestions and ideas. Great job on all you have done!

    Cheers

I did run Synchronet for a short time and I found that I had to turn off the Email function of Synchronet because my ISP warned me they would turn off my account due to Spamming coming from my system. Evidently, some 'people' got
in and were actually sending out spamm through my Synchronet system. I did like being able to send/receive emails there, but for me I think having a
very secure system would be required to ward off people from
    abusing/mis-using the system.

This is an interesting idea. You can sort of do most of the various things...

You can add and remove them from bases, and change their archive format, passwords, etc. But you can't force a rescan. I'll put that on the list of things to look into.

    2) Improve the console for viewing what bases and file bases a node is connected to. If you get a lot, it can get tough to view. Maybe just be able to generate a list for a node. Its kind of hard to tell as is. But

How do you suggest I improve it?

You can already go to the echomail nodes and /E to view everything they're connected to in a list format. Or you can go into the message base to see all systems connected to a particular message base.

    3) Add the ability for US (the sysops) to turn on extensive logging like debug. So I can see exact errors when FTN connections fail or stuff
    doesnt get tossed.

I do plan to put log levels in to other areas, but in things like MUTIL it already exists. Are there certain errors that you feel you're not seeing?

    4) Finish TIC processing.

TIC/filebone processing is fully functional. Do you mean hatching?

    5) I know this has been debated. But, i would love a email plugin to Mystic. Auth STMP and Pop3. Id love to be able to run a Mail Server for communicating with email inside my BBS. That is the one feature I love

I do have that on the list to look into. I do have some working code related to this already too.

    Thanks for the suggestions!

Sure that's always a possibility. But you can secure it certain ways. And ultimately you can disable the service if you don't want it.

Yes it's good to use. I have also suggested something similar for file echos
