Rather that be optional meaning something that gets added to the ini file and can be toggled.

    Cheers!

    software gods,

make CTRL-U carriage return after you hit CTRL-U in the index reader

Do you mean go to the next base in the list?

I'll probably be redoing the message index reader to be more in line with what the file index lister looks like (with the viewing of subs/non subs, tagging to do bulk operations, etc)... So I can make some updates at that time.

What I can do is have it react to "snap_new" so that if you CTRL+U and snap_new is set, it will jump to the next base with new messages just like it does
    when you're reading messages.

    ini file?

Both file and mail index readers are have options stored in an ini file.

    mail index: ansimidx.ini
    file index: file_index.ini

These are both located in the text folder allowing you to change how either index reader acts and behaves.

    Cheers!

ansimidx.ini contains the configuration for the index reader, by default. I think he's saying it could be an option in the .ini file, but there already
    is one called "snap_new".

snap_new works, but it doesn't magically jump on a ctrl+U just because someone suggested it should! :P

I plan to completely redo the message index at some point, so that its more
in line with file base index. So if anyone has suggestions now is the time...

So far I have your CTRL+U change in mind but not a whole lot else.
