• A new info pack

From Al@GAMENET/TRMB to All on Friday, July 27, 2018 12:56:44
    Hello All,

Yesteday I hatched a new infopack and when it arrived here on my BBS it failed to toss because of a CRC mismatch. I used hatchit to hatch that file and it seems to create a 10 digit crc. It might be a good CRC but tickit and I think most tic processors are looking for an 8 digit CRC.

Sorry about that folks! You may have a gn180714.zip stuck in your inbound. I'll see if I can find the problem along with a fix for hatchit so that doesn't happen next time.. :)

This has been fixed I think. Hatchit was using decimal vs hexadecimal notation so future hatches from the hub should work OK. Andrew's nodelist hatches have always worked well.

Also, there is a QWKnet node trying to connect but is getting "connection refused". Is anyone else seeing this?

I haven't seen any problems myself but I wonder how others are doing?

I am just woundering per info pkt via qwk I probably not linked to it
so how do I do that via qwk network and does the file can to me via the
qwk connection as I haven't done this before and not sure how it works.

In the case of SBBS I could put the file in your data/qnet/[BBSID].OUT directory (at the hub) and the file will be placed in your data/qnet/[BBSID].IN directory if I remember how that works right.

In fact I just put that file in the data/qnet/CHOICE.out directory. You should get a notification when you log on after getting that file.

Let me know if you get it successfully and we can do it that way for SBBS nodes if they wish.

That file is still in the CHOICE.out directory. I also tried CHOICE.OUT. I'll have to get back to the docs and see if I missed something.

As it happens I just saw your node grab a QWK packet at the hub. It packed 2 new messages, 1792 bytes and then downloaded a 1771 byte QWK packet so it doesn't look like you got the infopack.

I renamed the directory from CHOICE.out to CHOICE.OUT.. maybe that will make a difference.. we'll see the next time your node polls for a QWK packet.

No I have not received as yet.

I'm going to have to ask in one of the Synchronet support bases.

I know this works since I have used it before but can't seem to figure out why it's not working.

Can you try sending a file from your end and I'll see if it arrives here?

Any old file will do. Put it in the data/qnet/GAMENET.OUT directory, if I am not mistaken.

Yes, I believe so. I'll do that whenever there is a new infopack. I'll add that info to the infopack as well so QWK-net nodes know we can do that if they like.

There'll be another infopack soonish but I am going to be traveling for a few days or a week so will likely be afk for a time.

Any other QWK-net nodes want to receive the info pack or nodelists?

Just let me know and I'll keep a list of who wants what and send them when they are available.

There is the info packs and nodelists now but I have been thinking about other areas too that might be of interest to nodes if there is any interest in that.
