Scenes in Kabul are reminiscent of the chaotic departure from Saigon
all those years ago.
It seems the US is no longer the power it once was. Surely this could
have been anticipated - a gutless Afghan President running for the
hills, an army (using the word loosely) that won't fight and
surrenders its weapons and uniforms...
The fate of the poor Afghans and others deserted in Kabul is
unimaginable. The US has major Pacific interests - how can the
Philippines, Japan, Taiwan, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore rely on
the US now as a firm ally when it seems the US is scared of its own
shadow?
How can the UK rely on its Five Eyes and other paperwork with the US
now that it seems when the going gets tough, the US runs away?
The world had such blind faith in Biden. Perhaps his brain is in fact ossified by age, perhaps he is senile. If so, bring in Kamala,
although she seems to have no profile at all, is she even real?
