### - was a very quiet xmas here this year, the main streets increasingly deserted as more & more peeps were (and still are being) forced into
isolation after testing positive, something which is now being termed a 'soft-lockdown' heh...
current figures suggesting that as many as 1 in 10 londoners are infected, previous peaks only reaching one in 40 in london...
this meaning that it's basically now impossible to go out on the street
here without encountering someone whose infected, enough of them still wandering around out there carelessly shedding this shit everywhere they
go, touching & breathing on items in the supermarkets, gas stations &
shops, no social distancing + half of them not even wearing masks or
gloves! duh!
AND the after-xmas sales are just beginning?? lol
heh methinks/observes we're determined to all get infected here, everyone prolly holding onto the hope it's only gonna be mild - there hasn't been
some 'huge' corresponding rise in fatalities anyway!
so far at any rate that is!
because it can take 10 days to make peeps ill enough to end up in the
hospital like boris that time (on day-10 he was shipped to the hospital
and the next put on oxygen) and because we're only just about coming up to
this 10-day period around about now/over the next few days...
the best emerging/speculative 'medical' news re omicron, so far, being
that it 'might' just confine itself to people's upper airways and throats unlike previous strains which replicated better/faster in deep lung tissue leading to a killer form of pneumonia... colds & flu also preferring our
upper airways for example, in which case ya feels like shit + have a sore throat/cough for a week and then it goes, problems only arising due to any secondary bacterial infections, which not everyone gets and which usually responds to antibiotics anyway...
but it's gonna be another few days before we'll know all this for sure, i guess...
meanwhile am just staying-put :)))
