Chris, if the Trump talk bugs you so much, why do you keep shooting
off your mouth in the "Destructive Cult Of Trump" thread?
Or are you so addled you don't pay attention to what thread you're
even posting in? Maybe not smart enough to realize you don't have
to read threads with 'Trump' in the title?

And your posts lately are so terse I can't tell what you're
trying to say half the time. Maybe you think it looks 'wise'
to say so little? Or are you just that bad at communicating?
Are you saying you believe *I'm* a gaslighter? Or slider?
If you say me, then you don't even know what the word means
yet have unwittingly participated in it (quite a trick). :)

Slider even argues with me over things I agree with him on.
Rants at me about views I have already long-held, etc.
As if I don't hold my own professed views. :) Classic gaslighting.

In a discussion of words, if Goofus doesn't care about accuracy
or acting ethically - as he just admitted - then what does he
care about? About advancing his own positions even if they're
inaccurate, unethical, or deceptive. He's fine with doing that;
he just said so himself (uncharacteristically honest for once).

See, he won't be "limited" by facts, logic, ethics, or honesty.
Remind you of anyone?? :) Heh. Yeah, you know who...

Nope. Not even close. Gaslighting is when a person who has some sort
of mental (intellectual, educational, social etc) advantage over
another person convinces through trickery that other person that they
are going insane.

I know this because I have had specific experience of the practice. It
is a term which is much misunderstood but the origin is a story two
centuries ago which featured a husband who periodically turned the gas
light up and down and when his wife noticed and mentioned it, he just
told her that she was imagining it because the light had not changed.
She became unbalanced and questioned her own sanity.

It takes a malignant and evil personality to do that sort of shit to
anyone, let alone a relative. That is what gaslighting is. Slider
does not gaslight, he prevaricates and he quibbles and wheedles even
but he does not gaslight. He is neither malignant nor evil.
