Boba Fett Movie Is 100% Dead Says Kathleen Kennedy
    --------------------------------------------------
Last night at a screening of Marvel's Black Panther,
Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy confirmed to
reporter Erick Weber that any plans LFL had for a
Boba Fett "Star Wars Story" is 100% dead. Instead
they are focusing on The Mandalorian, which is
pretty close to Boba Fett, and looks fantastic from
the images we've seen so far.

Kathleen Kennedy just confirmed to me
Boba Fett movie is 100% dead,
    100% focusing on THE MANDALORIAN
    #StarWars

Why the hell are the focusing on ancillary characters when there all sorts
of dead space in Darth Vader's story between REVENGE OF THE SITH and ROGUE
ONE just waiting to be filled in?

What's next? CANTINA BAND HAMMERHEAD: A STAR WARS STORY

Probably. You have to remember the original plan was one Star Wars
    movie a year.

The previous plans (including the Rian Johnson trilogy, thankfully!)
were dropped due to the dismal performance of "Episode VIII" and "Solo".

The current plans seem to be to make "Episode IX", the "Mandalorian" TV
show, the new "Star Wars Resistance" animated show, the newly announced
"Lego Star Wars All-Stars" series, and then the new separate trilogy by
the "Game of Thrones" guys ... plus of course the "Star Wars Land" at Disneyland.

Probably. You have to remember the original plan was one Star Wars

In fairness, if it was all Vader all the time, people would get bored.

This is just my opinion, but Vader is cool because in addition to being
a general badass he's also a bit distant. I know enough backstory to appreciate the character, but not so much that I'm bored of the
    character.

To be honest, a Boba Fett movie (or The Mandalorian or whatever)

"The Mandalorian" TV series is not about Boba Fett.

could be a good idea. There's a lot we don't know about Boba Fett and
the things he did up until A New Hope. Besides, it's pretty clear Lucas/Disney is trying to expand the Star Wars universe. It can't all
just be about the Skywalker clan.

    The problem is that;

    a. Neither Lucasfilm nor Disney really understand that. They insist on
always bringing in the original characters. They had a perfectly good,
separate series with "Rebels", and then ran out of sensible ideas and
had to bring in Darth Maul, Darth Vader, Leia, etc. Same with "Lego
    Star Wars: The Freemaker Adventures".

    and

    b. The general human being is incredibly stupid. If the movies / TV shows
don't include those original chracters, you get all the dumbasses
complaining "Where is {insert character}?", "Did (s)he die?", etc.

Nobody seems to have the common sense to understand that it's a massive universe with a ton of different stories that could be told. The
closest we've got so far, outside of a few books, was the "Rogue One"
    movie.

Mind you, it's no different in any other franchise. For example, in the spin-off Stargate shows they kept bringing in the original SG-1
    characters.

As alwyas, it basically comes back to a complete lack of any actual
creative ability in Hollyweird these days, so they lazily bring out the
stuff we've already seen a billion times before. :-(
