Adam,
The 5000 is widely viewed as the cream of the crop in the Beast line.
I have 3 of the BST, you can check them out at
If you are looking for more specific info, just let me know and I'll
try to help. The BST's have developed quite a following, they are
highly under-rated in my opinion. I have played guitars costing
thousands more, but the BST's beat most hands down.
I got the guitar in the mail about a week ago. It came freshly setup
with a set of 9s, which is my gauge of choice. However, this guitar
seems like it would benefit with heavier wound strings; I'm gonna buy a
pack of 10s, and re-string the E,A and D to see if that helps at all. I
also noticed that the action is really low. I was wondering how you set
up your BST 5000. I figure you might have some tips, seeing that you own
all the different Beast models.
Thanks,
-Adam

I have a flair for no matter how old this is... I never saw this guitar
the beast models of gretsch are all new to me.I feel like a tomb raider :) I´ve been thinking of selling my bst-5000 but... The more i play on it the more i really realize what a good guitar it is, especially for the money you pay.
I gotta go search them..!
