come from do I buy the Schecter for under $400 or do I buy a EMG 89/81 set of pickups and put them on my Frankencaster?

So if anyone has played the Diamond Plus PU's I'd be appreciative of their
    experience and review.

    Thanks

Well, this thread didn't help at all. Haha.

I can't help much, but I can tell you this:
I have/had three Schecters, the Schecter pups are good. I don't think
any of mine are/were Diamnond Plus....but I doubt that matters much. I
actually had an Omen 6, but that one had USA Duncan Active
pups....nice guitar all around. I still have a C1EA, but I put in USA
Duncans. I also have anTempest Custom 2006....the neck is a Desigend
by Duncan and it sounds fine, no need to replace.

I own one Asian-made Schecter (PT Goldtop, which is essentially a
Telecaster with two humbuckers.) The original pickups were passive
Designed by Duncan. They're OK, not great. I kept the bridge pickup
'cause it was good enough, but replaced the neck with a Dimarzio
Virtual Vintage. If I played this guitar more I might search for a
    better setup.
